Weather Report

The weather has been spectacular for the last few weeks.

Work is OK. I'm pretty much back on track.

Our soccer team hasn't won anything, but I'm happy to be part of the team.

I've been watching a lot of Euro 2008, but I'm not too thrilled about how the teams have been playing. I'm not too thrilled about the Netherlands this year. I like how Russia played against Sweden, but I can't agree with the mind set of the players. I like underdogs and how people prove the majority to be wrong, but I don't think it has much to do with the progress of the game itself. What I mean by the progress of the game is developing a 'new' way of playing to beat the teams that are thought to be superior. I'd like to think that it's different than just 'playing hard.' The way Russia played was 1000 times better for football than some teams who defend for 120 minutes and win on penalties, but I can't say for sure that this Russian team will be the basis of how Russia or any other teams will play from now on. Maybe it's just that I don't like this big 'for the team' mentality thing. I know that I'm being selfish to have someone else (players) do this, but I want the teams to show me that it's more important to lose by your own ideas than to win by doing things that other people tell you to.
